Custom hangers made of different materials each have their unique characteristics. Understanding these characteristics is key to customizing high-quality hangers. Drawing on years of experience in manufacturing customized hangers, Dadi has gain a lot of experiences of dealing with different material.
Cedar Hangers
Wooden hangers made of cedar are a popular choice in the high-end house ware hanger market due to their light weight, natural fragrance, and anti-corrosion and insect-repellent properties. However, it has comparatively more knots than other wood. Live knots in the cedar wood is usually not considered as quality issues because if all the knots are taken away, there will be too much waste. Also, the white cedar frost on the surface is not mouldy. In fact, these are all inherent characteristics of cedar: the wood is not entirely pink, but contains natural white textures; the cedar frost is not mouldy, but precisely the source of its fragrance and anti-corrosion effect.

Based on these characteristics of cedar, Dadi adopts the following two approaches when crafting cedar hangers:
- Communication: Before production, our team explains the properties of cedar to customers. Previously, a customer sold cedar hangers customized by Dadi on their online store. As they failed to specify these properties on the product page in advance, they received a large number of inquiries regarding “whether cedar frost is harmful”. After subsequently adding the explanation that “cedar frost is not mouldy, has no effect on clothes, and can be easily wiped off with a soft cloth”, the number of inquiries decreased drastically.
- Refined Processing: Although many clients express acceptance of live knots in the wood, to minimize potential disputes, we use a very special way to mend the live knots. This process involves carefully removing knots and seamlessly patching the area, followed by sanding the surface to a smooth finish.

Prevention of Wood Moisture and Mold Issues
Mold growth on hangers during the rainy season is a common problem in the hanger industry. The root causes lie in the following: humidity can be 90% or higher in rainy season in the production area for hangers. So it’s very hard to keep the material’s humidity within acceptable range as it absorbs water from air during production.
To avoid such issues, Dadi strictly controls every step of the hanger production process when manufacturing hangers:
- The moisture content of the wood used for hangers must be kept below 12 degrees. For bleached hangers, the moisture content must reach 8-12 degrees before they can leave the drying room. Also, we need to check all corners of the drying room to make sure no part is exceptional.
- If semi-finished hangers can’t be processed on time, they need to be dehumidified for at least one night before we process them again.
- After the water-based paint of the hangers is completed, the hangers should either be air-dried on the static machine for more than 12 hours (with fans to speed up drying) or hung in the de-humidification room for one night.
- The warehouse has dehumidification equipment. If finished hangers are packed but not shipped for more than a week, they need to be put back in the dehumidification room for treatment. This stops the hangers from getting moldy.
- Conduct multiple spot checks for humidity at key stages of production, during assembly, after packing, and prior to shipment.

From understanding the characteristics of wood to controlling moisture throughout the process, Dadi always focuses on mastering details. We avoid quality risks of custom wooden hangers in all aspects, from communicating custom requirements to carrying out production. If you need custom hangers, you can choose Dadi with confidence.
